There Remains Much to Build

Grant Neufeld

When creating something new - there's always the desire to get it perfect right from the start. In this instance, I've had to crush that impulse in favor of making this first step. It's essential that we start now to build out a solid, community-driven, independent media. Perfection can come later...

This is a moment of great opportunity. A larger number of people than ever before seem to be aware of the crisis in the existing media, and those people want something that actually serves to bring them real news and information not solely driven by a corporate agenda.

There's so much that is missing from this publication right now: Women's analysis, entertainment, comics, sports, business, religion & spirituality, home & garden, and detailed local news coverage. While I don't personally find things like sports interesting, I know that to be a paper that serves the larger community, we need to deal with the diverse range of people's interests. I hope you'll tolerate the many gaps while we work to expand the inclusiveness of this publication. We strive for a very open approach to our coverage, and welcome your contributions. We're not in this to "bring down the word from on high,"--our ambition is to build this as a community driven news and analysis medium. Participation from the citizens of our community is what will make this publication succeed.
